Happy October from Drs. Jacobs, Steckenrider & staff!
You know we’re fascinated with how the eyes, brain and body interact from a health standpoint. We’re just as fascinated with how they work together from a behavioral perspective, so we love our RightEye – an amazing new technology which measures and records eye movements. A large database allows comparison to others to assess Brain Health (injuries and disease often impact eye movements), as well as Sports Vision and Reading efficiency. If issues are identified, visual therapy can help improve performance.
We’d love to have you experience it--check in with the office to see what it’s all about!
Another item in the “Vision is Amazing” department. One would think paying attention to things is key to how vision guides us, but one would be mostly wrong! Filtering out information (visual, and from the other senses as well) is often even more important and common than active attention.
Talking about active attention, here’s one from the “You have to look in order to see – and the more you look the more you see” department. It’s a fantastic world out there – take a good look!!
And while you’re looking, if you want more info on what you’re seeing, now there’s Alexa-Specs. Not sure that’s the official name, but it’s certainly the idea! A bit beyond necessary and a little creepy to me, but I guess it makes sense if you can’t otherwise remember you need to buy lemonade 😊
Finally, remember to save the date for our 12th Annual Trunk Show and Local Charity Fundraiser in support of NRV Cares and VICCC – Friday, November 15th!! More info in November’s newsletter.
In the meantime, we wish you a Happy Halloween!! What are you going to be?
