Happy February from Drs. Jacobs, Diaz and staff!
We've got some treats for you this month--don't miss the hilarious videos at the bottom of the email! But first, important business...
February is Macular Degeneration Awareness month. Macular Degeneration affects our ability to see fine details. It's the leading cause of vision loss among older Americans, and due to the aging of the U.S. population, the number of people affected by AMD is expected to increase in the years ahead. It's a lifestyle diseases we deal with every day--and as with others, diet, exercise and other lifestyle changes can help improve outcomes.
Here at the office we’re saying congratulations to Leigh, who recently got engaged, just in time for Valentine’s Day! She and her fiancé plan to wed sometime in the spring of 2020. Be sure to wish her your best when you see her!
A special vision (or, rather, non-vision) related event is coming up in early April – Dinner in the Dark – to benefit New Vision, a charitable promoter of independence, and provider of services for the blind and visually impaired. Dinner in the Dark lets sighted people experience one meal the way significantly visually impaired experience every meal. It’s a fun and “eye-opening” event, and helps raise funds for a wonderful cause. Check out their website for more info!
